Kids Klinic - A GREAT Benefit of KK!

Kids Kampus childcare center of Huntington recently hosted a First Steps Forum at Huntington University Dining Commons for area referring agencies, opening remarks were provided by Kids Kampus Administrator, Loretta Mottram and Family Resource Coordinator, Joy Koch.

The event’s keynote speaker, Dr. Duane Hougendobler of Pediatric Medical Group spoke on the importance of Early Intervention Services and highlighted milestones of child development. Additionally, Dr. Hougendobler discussed the importance of seeing steady developmental progress in children, the need for referring children early for therapy services, and the far-reaching benefits of First Steps therapy services.

Leslie Ahlersmeyer, Local Planning and Outreach Coordinator from the area First Steps office was on hand to share specifics of the program, including eligibility guidelines, services available, and the process of enrollment into First Steps therapy services.

The forum concluded with Kids Kampus therapists briefly discussing the areas of their specialties including speech therapy, developmental therapy and occupational therapy services available to the Huntington County area.
