Kids Kampus childcare center of Huntington, “A Caring Place to Go and Grow!”, opened the first annual “Kids Kampus Mall” on Monday, August 21, 2006, with donations of thousands of children’s items received from The Stride Rite Corporation in Huntington. Stride Rite’s Executive Director Bill Carter, and the Human Resource Department’s Brooke Aschliman and Edette Eckert were on hand on Monday afternoon to witness the opening of the mall. Kids Kampus Administrator Loretta Mottram commented, "Stride Rite has demonstrated the ultimate support for children and children services in Huntington County. They have partnered with Kids Kampus to provide a FREE Mall for children just in time to help fill many back to school needs." Stride Rite donated sunglasses, shoestrings, watches, coats, winter hats, summer hats, socks, tights, purses and various other items free of charge to the childcare center. Children must earn points to purchase items in the “Kids Kampus Mall”. Kids Kampus Administrator Loretta Mottram stated, “Children can earn tickets for kind behavior, being special helpers, and an array of kind deeds that they are learning as important social skills here at Kids Kampus.” Mottram added, “Every child in our program as well as Kids Kampus and Pathfinder affiliates wish to send a VERY special thank you to our community partner, Stride Rite. The children have been anxiously anticipating their mall day. This has been a valued educational experience that we are gracious to have had for our students. The incredible coats, hats, socks, and many other items not only add excitement for our children but financial relief to many families. Hundreds of children will reap the benefits of this generous donation!” It is still not to late to register for the new “Premier Preschool” and Playgroup at Kids Kampus. For more information please call 260-356-0123. Kids Kampus is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs and is the only licensed childcare center in Huntington County. Kids Kampus is a division of Pathfinder Services, Inc., a not-for-profit human services organization based in Huntington.
