Nancy Lewis

Occupational Therapist - 

  • Possesses over 20 years of experience working with children exhibiting or at- risk for developmental delays in areas of prematurity, genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, neurological disorders and generalized developmental delays.
  • Certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment for Pediatrics and has specialized training in motor delays, adaptive equipment and positioning, sensory integration, and oral motor /feeding disorders.
  • Assists children in the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills and oral motor / feeding skills.
  • Provides individualized treatment activities and strategies through home visits and structured play for children to learn motor skills appropriate for their age and individual ability.
  • Provides home programming for parents to better understand and learn how to facilitate their child’s development and learning within their daily routines and within community settings.

Sara Wilcox
Speech Pathologist-
  • Possesses over 18 years of experience working with children having speech and language delays.
  • Has specialized training in the areas of autism, developmental apraxia, oral motor / feeding disorders and American Sign Language.  Certified Level I presenter for Sign 2 Your Baby curriculum.
  • Assists children in the development of a useful communication system that will allow them to share wants and needs, reduce frustration and acting out and help parents understand and challenge their children to grow in their speech and language development.
  • Provides individualized treatment activities and strategies through home visits and structured play for children to acquire communication skills appropriate for their age or individual abilities.
  • Provides home programming for parents to better understand and learn how to facilitate their child’s development and learning within their daily routines and within community settings.

 

Christine Schnitz
Developmental Therapist-

  • Possesses over 10 years experience working with families and children with special needs including general developmental delays, autism, premature infants, hydrocephalus,  shaken baby syndrome.

  • Continues receiving specific training in successful parenting, developmental expectations, education and support.

  • Utilizes general developmental assessment tools to determine child’s strengths and needs in cognitive (thinking) skills, sensory, social-emotional development, adaptive and self-help skills thus providing the child and family with activities to enhance skills within those areas of development.

  • Assists children in the development of cognitive and problem-solving skills and overall developmental skills through structured play activities and individualized treatment activities in the home or community setting.

  • Encourages and educates parents in methods and learning activities to promote learning the child’s “next “skills within the child and family’s daily routine.

Joy Koch

 

Fami    Resource Coordinator-

  • Has previously worked at Kids Kampus for the last 8 years as a First Steps Service Coordinator assisting First Steps families in the coordination of their child’s First Steps therapies and services and referrals to other available community programs and resources. 
  • Personal and first-hand experience as a Kids Kampus parent utilizing First Steps therapies and child care services as well as personal experience in accessing and obtaining various services for families of children with special needs. 
  • Ongoing training including family to family support, health-care financing, family interviewing, and transition to preschool services.
  • Filling this newly created position at Kids Kampus, Joy is now available to assist all families receiving Kids Kampus services by providing them with community information, referrals and resources.  Also, assists in the education and marketing of First Steps services and other programs of Kids Kampus.
  • Available to assist in the implementation of IFSPs (Individualized Family Service Plans) and IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) for children enrolled in Kids Kampus child care, playgroup and premiere preschool services.
